Circa 1892

I had a wonderful stay in the city this week, a bit of a get away, and treated myself to afternoon tea at the Hopetoun Tea Rooms in The Block Arcade, Melbourne.   The tea rooms established in 1892 still have the original green florally wallpaper which is so inspiring I just wanted to get a sketch pad out, as I did not have one with me I settled instead for eating yummy cake.

 and the new owners provide good service, all the more pleasant

Time Out

Are you wandering where I am? 

Well I have been taking some time out.  The juggling of being a mum and a designer running a business got on top of me a bit.  I'm off to the city tomorrow to attend some interesting fashion forums as part of fashion week. I hope to have some new inspiration to pass on later in the week.   In the mean time I leave you with some images of my own design work

Pattern in the home

As I start to to design my new home wares collection I find myself thinking about different ways pattern can be used in the home and how it adds interest to the eye as we go about living our lives.   Here are some examples of striking pattern used in the home.
