Digital Print Workshop

Recently I got involved with Fashion and Textile Hub TFIA Council of Textile and Fashion Industries of Australia   It is a government incentive for design business.  It is a great opportunity to network with other designers and to use the amazing equipment at the Hub.

This week I attended a great workshop about digital print onto textiles.  The possibilities are amazing and although I have played with digital print in my design work before, I learned so much more about how the technology works.

Learning how to load fabric into the digital printer

Digital piece printer that can print onto pre made products

It was great networking and shearing of stories with other designers and product developers.

Unfinished projects

I wander what the statutes of limitations is on a knitting project.  I stating knitting this red scarf when I was pregnant with Oliver; so about four years ago. Every Autumn since I have picked it up again and knitted a few more inches; at this rate Oliver will have left home by the time I am finished.

I am defiantly not a natural knitter, all other crafts come naturally to me but knitting and crouche are still elusive

Although I make very slow work at least I can say that it lovely se-metrical knitting

Easter Parade

I had a lovely Easter with family, Oliver and Jasmine found it very magical particularly Oliver, now three, loved the magic of getting up to find chocolate eggs hidden around the house.

Oliver built this wonderful castle on the Saturday night in hope that a certain little bunny might hide some eggs in there.

We all made Easter hats while lunch was being prepared, such a  successful Easter craft activity.

My beautiful daughter Jasmine, cousin and my son Oliver in their easter hats.

Jasmine thought her Easter hat was particularly gorgeous

April

It's already the 4th of April and I'm only just now shearing my calendar page.  It have been a strange week with daylight savings ending. Jasmine and Oliver did not get the memo and they want their food and sleeps all at strange times.

Yesterday I was preparing for the Easter festival which has also crept up on me.

I love this months calendar print.  Kimono fabric from a sample book, Japan 1939. The thing that I like most about this fabric it that it seems unfinished in parts.
